Experience
I have served the community in one fashion or another my entire adult life. I served in the armed forces of the United States, enlisting into Special Forces as an intelligence analyst and paratrooper. As a warrant officer aviator, I served in both the regular Army and the Florida National Guard. I attended college on the old GI Bill and had to choose between law school and aviation.
I chose law school and left my military duties behind until Sept. 11, 2001. After the attacks on our country, with much prayer and thought, I put my uniform back on and now serve as a JAG (military lawyer) with the United States Army Reserve. In that capacity, I have served and assisted countless soldiers that are, and were, going down range into harm's way. I have given counsel to the families of soldiers who are here, while their loved ones are in danger. And I have gone to Europe and assisted wounded soldiers who were in transition from war to peace.
I have also counseled commanders on the administration of justice and how to lead ethically and professionally. I continue to serve and will continue to serve regardless of the outcome of the election.
As a lawyer, I have defended numerous police departments and sheriffs throughout the state in civil litigation. I have served as assistant county attorney in Baker and Bradford counties. I have served as the assistant city attorney for Starke and as city attorney for Lawtey. I have also represented numerous city and county officials in their official capacity from election law litigation to ethics issues.
I am currently supervising the litigation of the city of Lawtey on its water and sewer project. I have gained experience with multiple complex issues of law that arise in the course of local government.
